CurlyLocks started off as a rapper and DJ in Philadelphia and went by the name Grand D in the 80's. He and his old rap partner Robert Wallace also known as E.S.T would dominate the hallways of Olney High School during lunch time. He then joined a Sound system known as AstroFunk and packed parties with greats such as, Jazzy Jeff, Fresh Prince, EST, Dj Cash Money, the Beastie Boys, Salt-N-Pepper, Eric B and Rakim, Slick Rick, Ultra Magnetic MC's, KRS One and many more.
On the reggae scene he has traveled to the caribbean countless times thru out his career for monthly Dj residencies, as well as being a guest Dj at Jamaica's annual Fully Loaded Concert, where only the top dj's are pick to perform yearly. He has worked along side reggae legends such as Beres Hammond, Luciano, Bounty Killer, T.O.K, Vybz Kartel, Capleton, Third World, Maxi Priest, Busta Rhymes and more. He was one of the Djs responsible for jump starting Sean Paul, Vybz Kartel and Da'ville's musical career to the level of stardom, with the exclusive mix cd's he would help work on with those artist and Federation Sound. He has held some of the most desired reggae nights in Philadelphia, with weekly residency at Filo's, Genesis & Omni night clubs, to hyping up shows and concerts at Cavanaugh's (formerly Katmandu), Electric Factory, Kahunaville, The Trocadero and more.

CurlyLocks delivers the sweetest Caribbean as well as hip-hop, R&B and EDM sounds to a packed house. One of his more recent notable accomplishments was being ask by Kendrick Lamar to be his DJ for his performance at Philly's Global Fusion Festival. CurlyLocks was also one part of the group Federation Sound, which was comprised of 7 distinguished members: Kenny Meez, Max Glazer(Rihanna and Baby Chams Dj), Disco D, Alric & Boyd of Fame Fm in Jamaica and Cipha Sound of Hot97fm in New York. Collectively this incredible crew was driving force that began to bridge the gap between Caribbean culture and America. Their style of sound reverberated all over the globe, with a monthly residency at Jamaica's hottest night spot, club Quad. They'd travel the world dropping the craziest dancehall, reggae and hip-hop reggae remixes. Having been responsible for countless productions and remixes such as Track 10, on 50 cents Massacre album entitled "Ski Mask Way", "Crazy In Love" remix featuring Jay-Z, Beyonce & Baby Cham, "Yeah" remix with Usher & Baby Cham, "Move Your Body" remix with Nina Sky & Vybz Kartel, as well as the Grammy nominated Frontin remix featuring Jayz, Pharell, Vybz Kartel and Wayne Marshall on Def Jamaica/Def Jam and many more.       His voice is so loved by people that he was asked by his old partner Disco D to do a voice over reel for the Expansion Team in 2004. He began to receive call backs to do television commercial voice over ads for numerous company giants, such as Sprite Remix Aruba jam, Coca Cola, Best Buy and Heineken.
