Actor Bio
|
Porter Kelly was born in Los Angeles and moved to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan at age 8. She grew up on a river just outside of Escanaba, Michigan and spent her childhood catching frogs, climbing trees and raising prize-winning goats and rabbits. Although heavily involved in student government (as class treasurer) and cheerleading in high school, Porter caught the acting bug when she played the title role in "Annie."
After graduating with honors from Northern Michigan University, Porter toured with the highly acclaimed Missoula Children's Theatre and appeared on NBC's Today in a story about that company. She then moved to Chicago where she performed in numerous theatre productions ranging from Sondheim to Shakespeare. She also began her improv and sketch comedy career in Chicago, graduating from The Second City Conservatory and The Annoyance Theatre. Since moving to Los Angeles, Porter's television appearances include "The Office," "Private Practice," "Lie to Me," "Law & Order: Los Angeles" and "Without a Trace" as well as in dozens of national commercials. She has studied and performed at The Groundlings, iO West and ACME Comedy Theatre where she currently performs regularly as a main company member. Her coolest credit to date is appearing as both the voice and face of a CGI character in the highly anticipated video game "L.A. Noire." |
