Sidow Sobrino - The World's No.1 Superstar, is an American singer-songwriter, actor, producer, SAG-AFTRA / ASCAP member, and founder of No.1 Designs. Born Diego Hernan Sobrino Guillermo on December 1, 1975, in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, his lineage is a mystical blend of French, Spanish, Portuguese, Greek, English, and Mexican ancestry, each contributing to the profound mystery of his being. Hailed as a self-made star, Sidow Sobrino is a worldwide sensation in pop culture and is undoubtedly one of the internet's most searched celebrities. He has built a substantial following and achieved media recognition without the support of a major record label or agency, relying solely on his talent and unwavering determination.
For the first 20 years of his career, Sidow Sobrino performed under the name Diegodiego, an internationally recognized actor and singer. His chart-topping albums include Quema Quema (2004), Haciendo Escandalo (2006), The World's Most Powerful Man (2013), I Want it Now (2017), Number One (2018), Dueo y Seor del Universo (2018), Rocking the Universe (2019), A Lo Macho (2020), World's Greatest Showman (2021), I'm Obsessed With You (2021), and My Amir (2024), which is currently being considered for two Grammy nominations in the prestigious categories of Album of the Year and Best Alternative Music Album, as well as Record of the Year for a Libera Award 2025. His latest album Seminal is currently being promoted. Sidow's acting career began in 1995 with the Mexican telenovela La Culpa (English: The Guilt), produced by Yuri Brea and Pinkye Morris for Televisa. He went on to star in films like Del Infierno a la Gloria (2007), Te Presumo (2012), and Assassin X (2016). His television appearances include The Carlos Mencia Show (2006), Spin the Bottle (2008) as a celebrity judge, RuPaul's Drag Race (2011), where he portrayed himself, and Shameless (2013), alongside Emmy Award-winning actor William H. Macy. In early 2013, Sidow opened up about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder and depression. He sought a path to recovery, choosing not to rely on medication. Instead, he found solace in his relationship with God, turning to therapy, prayer, fasting, Bible studies, and Christian counseling to transform his life. Sidow Sobrino is a true pioneer. As the first artist from Merida, Yucatan, MX, to record music and act in English-language films and TV shows, he broke into the American, European, Asian, and Latin markets. Before him, artists like Aleks Syntek and Armando Manzanero, whose songs were recorded by Frank Sinatra and Elvis Presley, had global success but never crossed over in the same multifaceted way across entertainment industries. Sidow-Sobrino married his partner, Richard Sidow-Sobrino, in a private ceremony in Las Vegas, NV, at the Little Vegas Chapel in 2019, later celebrating their union with a live Cher show at the MGM Grand Hotel. The Sidow-Sobrino family now lives between the United States and Europe, sharing their home with their dogs, Roxie and Amigo, after losing their previous pets, Onyx and Karmal. Sidow enjoys working out in his home gym, reading books on self-awareness, and traveling the world.
