Actor Bio
J. Emerson McGowan was born on/or about the Island of Atlantic City, New Jersey on Holy Innocents Day. During his formative years, his interests tended toward knowing more about the physical environment in which he lived and spent a great deal of time sifting through and learning from the "debris" that Nature washed upon the shores; as well as, peeking in the Globe Burlesque House as a 10-year-old on his way home from the beach (well, they had no AC so, they left the door open to get some breeze in there). Growing up in an entertainment town, he saw many of the talents and the glitz and glamour of that tiny paradise. The things he digested, the sum of which is utilized in his life as an actor and as a person. He holds a BA in Anthropology from SUNY and an MS Degree in Organizational Dynamics via U of Pa; both relate and rely heavily on the Craft and Delivery of Acting and the human condition.
 
He has received several awards for his work within the City of Union City, NJ. He is truly an emerged artist.
